  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – Resources for health and safety from the CDC, including important notices and information for travelers, such as vaccination requirements and travel alerts.
  • Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) – Information and resources from FARE to help improve the quality of life and the health of individuals with food allergies.
  • King County Health Services – Public health alerts; resources on illness, injury, and violence prevention; disease surveillance; environmental health services; emergency medical care and readiness and response to public health emergencies; and referral services.
  • HealthyChildren.org – Site created for parents by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • Poison Control – Provides help for poison emergency. Call 800-222-1222 for immediate assistance.
  • Recalls.gov – Lists federal recalls of consumer products including toys, food, and medicine.
  • Safe Kids Ultimate Car Seat Guide – Gives general tips and personalized tips on buying, installing and fitting car seats and booster seats properly.
  • Washington State Booster Seat Coalition – Washington State car seat and booster seat laws with info on places to get your car seat inspected.
  • Seattle Children’s Hospital – Information from and about this world-class children’s hospital in our region. Be sure to check out their Community Classes, which cover a variety of health and safety topics, including gun safety, car seat safety, helmet safety and water safety.
• Mental health
  • 24-Hour Crisis Line – Provides immediate help to individuals, families, and friends of people in emotional crisis, in multiple languages. Call 866-4-CRISIS (866-427-4747).
  • AnxietyBC – Provides online, self-help and evidence-based resources on anxiety and anxiety disorders.
  • CHADD – A national clearinghouse for evidence-based information about ADHD, funded by the Centers for Disease Control.
  • Crisis Connections – Crisis Connections connects people in physical, emotional and financial crisis to services that will be of help. Dial 2-1-1 to be connected to all kinds of health and human services.

  • Good Growing – A valuable resource in newsletter format from Seattle Children's. Good Growing provides valuable resources, classes and tips for parents parents of infants and adolescents.
  • Listening Mothers – A program of Community of Mindful Parenting, offering lectures, courses, and support groups to promote mindfulness and positive parenting.
  • ParentHelp123 – Operated by WithinReach, this site helps Washington state families find services in their communities and apply for health insurance, food assistance programs and more.
  • PostPartum Support International – Information about perinatal mood and anxiety and resources for postpartum depression.
  • Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS) – Offers baby/parent groups to educate, inform, and create community within neighborhoods.
  • Text4Baby – Text messages to keep parents and newborns healthy.
  • ZERO to THREE – Science-based information and tools to nurture young children’s development.
• Teen health
  • Adolescent Health – Society for Adolescent Health information and health app.
  • TeensHealth – Online health information for teens from the nonprofit Nemours Center for Children’s Health.
  • TeenLink – Teen Link offers a confidential, anonymous, and non-judgmental help line for youth ages 13–20; available every evening between 6 and 10 p.m.
  • Young Men’s Health – Up-to-date health information and answers to common questions for teen guys and young men.
  • Young Women’s Health – Resources from Boston Children’s Hospital about health, development and diseases, specifically targeting young women.
